On the eleventh day following births, puberty, or post-kariyam, punyahavachanam is conducted. This ritual is carried out to purify the dwelling and its occupants.



Punyahavachanam entails cleaning the home and purifying it through rituals to evoke the power of the water, such as Ganapathy pooja, Kalasha pooja, and mantra chanting. Sprinkled specifically on infants, parents, and everyone else in the house is this filtered water.

On each area of the home, prokshanam is performed. Typically, it takes place at home following significant life events like births, puberty, post-kariyam, etc.
