Description
In Sanatana Dharma, the Vedas are the source of all revelation and authority. The four Vedas—the Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda—were all oral traditions. The four Vedas were only sung for thousands of years without being recorded or transmitted via the Guru-Shishya Parampara.
Veda purohits sang the potent holy mantras found in the Vedas, which produce a great deal of energy and vibration and counteract the evil influences of inert matter to elevate creation. The Sama Veda is currently the second most popularly known and recited Veda after the Rig and Yajur Vedas. The Atharva Veda is gradually vanishing. The Rig Veda, known as the “root” Veda, is filled with hymns to many different Hindu deities, such as Indra, Rudra, Saraswati, and Vishnu, among others. Many mantras are found in the other Vedas.
