Description

The Lord Ganesha is honoured during Ganapathi Homam/Gana Homa (Son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi). He is popularly known as Vinayaka/Vighnaharta, a person who takes off any barriers on our path. Any auspicious ritual, pooja, and other homams begin with the performance of the Ganapathi homam.

The Lord Maha Ganapathi is invoked, the Ganapathi Mantra is chanted, and then the Ganapathi homa is performed in accordance with the Shastras.

When Is Ganapathi Homam Performed?
The optimal time to perform this homam is between 4:30 and 6:00 in the morning, or Brahma Muhurtham, before sunlight. The Janma Nakshatra, the yoga, and the Thithi of that specific person should be considered when choosing the day.
