Description

Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, is honoured on Vinayagar Chaturthi. Every year, on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha or ValarPirai in the month of Bhadrapada, this celebration takes place. Ten days of festivities culminate on the day of Ananth Chaturdashi. Anant Chaturdashi falls on September 9 in 2022, and Vinayagar Chaturthi is on August 31.

On this day, a lovely Vigraham of Lord Vinayagar is erected in the residence or in a public location, and Pranaprathistha (Life-giving power) is performed. Sodashaupachara (Sodasha means 16 varieties and Upachara means welcoming) pooja is then performed
